Baby rides on Kumho tires in YouTube video

Oct. 9, 2012

With a story line partly taken from recent headlines and partly based on one father’s fantasy when going for walks with his child, Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. has brought its just-released, latest creative production to the video-viewing masses on YouTube.

Dubbed “The Streets,” Kumho Tire’s follow up video to its inaugural foray into YouTube comedy depicts a father readying his son’s stroller for the ride of his life.

After a few final turns of the wrench to tighten the bolts on the stroller’s 16-inch Kumho tires, Stan, the father, lifts the garage door and wheels his son into the bright Southern California sun. Soon, the pair is cruising down the streets of Los Angeles and turning heads at every intersection.

The father and son, and especially the stroller, seem to catch the wrong kind of attention as they breeze by a law enforcement patrol car. The deputies in the patrol car follow in pursuit of the supped up stroller, though are not able to catch the duo before they make it safely back to their house.

“Of course, the video is meant to be a humorous take on the lengths some people will go to when they have great tires on their cars… or other means of transportation,” said Rick Brennan, vice president of Marketing for Kumho Tire U.S.A. “YouTube is one of the top rated social media sites and Kumho Tire wants the company to be accessible wherever its consumers go on the digital front. This video gives YouTube viewers an entertaining way to remember our brand.”

Kumho Tire’s first YouTube video, “Racetrack Baby,” has earned thousands of views. The company plans to release more videos in the coming months on lighthearted subject matters, as well as on serious issues such as the importance of tire safety. The tire safety video will include “how-tos” on properly checking tires for the correct inflation, tread, wear and more. “
