Yokohama sets up own mold company

Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has established Yokohama Mold Co. Ltd., a division that will build and sell tire molds. The new company represents a capital investment of 100 million yen.

It was set up to further reduce costs "by increasing the self-supply ratio within the Yokohama Rubber group," say company officials.

The division is based in Omitama City, Japan, and employs 48 people.
