Retired Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich was recently recognized by the Ohio Tire & Automotive Association (OTAA) for "nearly 35 years of service to the tire industry," says Alex Boehnke, the association's legislative director.
The OTAA honored Ulrich, who retired this past January, during its Aug. 17 golf event in the Columbus, Ohio, suburb of Dublin. During the event, the organization donated $1,500 to the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation, which provides supplemental help to auto service technicians who are unable to work due to injury and other challenges.
"This is additional, industry-funded support for those individuals and their families," Boenhke told MTD.
The golf event also included a post-round reception and raffle. "We had about a hundred golfers out there," says Boenhke. "It was a great event. We were very happy with the turn-out. And we were happy to recognize Bob and his tremendous service to our industry."
