GT Radial Wins Tire Cup in Formula DRIFT PRO Series

Oct. 17, 2023

Giti Tire (USA) Ltd. had two GT Radial drivers earn podium finishes at the Irwindale Speedway, which led the company to win the Tire Cup for the 2023 Formula DRIFT PRO Season.

Nick Noback and Aurimas "Odi" Bakchis raced on GT Radial Champiro SX2 RS tires. In total, teams competing on GT Radial tires had 13 podium finishes in the 2023 season.

“Winning the Tire Cup was our goal at the beginning of the season, and we did it thanks to our dedicated plant team members who produce the competition tires and our group of highly skilled drivers and teams,” says Mike Meeiem, motorsports manager for GT Radial.

“It is especially gratifying to see a tire made in America win the world’s most competitive drifting series.” The Champiro SX2 RS tires are manufactured at the company's plant in Richburg, S.C.

GT Radial has renewed its partnership with Formula DRIFT for another three-year term to provide tires to teams in the PRO Championship. GT Radial will also remain the Official Tire of the PROSPEC series for up-and-coming drivers for another two years.
