Michelin North America Inc. (MNA) plans to invest $80 million at its Waterville, Nova Scotia, plant in order to build X One wide-base truck tires there.
The investment, which includes new equipment, will make the Waterville plant Michelin's second largest truck tire manufacturing center in the world.
"The expansion will double Michelin's X One capacity," say MNA officials.
It also will add more than 70 new jobs at the factory, which can produce 4,500 tires per day at full capacity, according to Modern Tire Dealer's 2006 Facts Issue, which is available now.
