Sears may extend Sears Auto Center format to certain Kmart locations

Sears Holdings Corp. will be "testing multiple new initiatives" at select Kmart locations this year, according to Sears' recently published annual report. One of those initiatives may be the installation of Sears Auto Centers at certain Kmart stores.

A Sears spokesmen declined further comment about the development when contacted by moderntiredealer.com.

Kmart Corp. and Penske Auto Centers LLC shut down more than 500 Penske auto service service locations that were attached to Kmart stores two years ago.

Sears Roebuck & Co. and Kmart Holding Corp. merged last year in an $11 billion deal.
