Yokohama Tire Corp. has joined the latest round of tire manufacturer price increases.
Yokohama will hike passenger, high performance and light truck prices up to 5% on Oct. 1.
The company cites the escalation of raw material prices "as well as expenses associated with TREAD (Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation) Act compliance requirements" as reasons for the increase.
Earlier this week, Pirelli Tire North America Inc. announced it will raise prices on its passenger and light truck tires up to 4% on Oct. 1, too.
Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. raised prices on its passenger and light truck tires between 2% and 4% on Aug. 1.
Continental Tire North America Inc. raised prices on its Continental, General and private brand consumer tires by approximately 3% on July 1.
