Continental’s China plant begins test production

Continental AG announced that its new passenger tire plant in Hefei, China, has successfully begun trial production.

“We will invest an amount of 180 million euros in total into the Hefei plant in the first phase where the final production volume will be about 4 million tires per year,” said Alexander Lührs, spokesperson for Continental AG Rubber Group.

Lührs said that when testing is completed, the company plans a transition to full commercial production by the end of March.
