CTNA to sell Bryan OTR plant

June 8, 2005

Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has notified the State of Ohio that it expects to sell its OTR tire plant in Bryan, Ohio, to a German company, the Rosler Group, this summer, according to a report in The Toledo Blade.

"Bryan is up for sale and has been for some time," says a CTNA spokesperson.

CTNA has not disclosed what it's asking for the facility, which produces 300 OTR tires a day at full capacity, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.

The Bryan facility employs more than 300 people.

Last week, CTNA announced it will reduce tire production at its Charlotte, N.C., plant to between 17,000 and 18,000 units per day by next month.

The Charlotte plant currently produces 25,000 tires per day, according to CTNA officials.

The action will include a work force reduction of 200 to 300 jobs.
