Union: 'Bryan buyer must negotiate new contract'

June 9, 2005

The Rosler Group, which will reportedly buy Continental Tire North America Inc.'s Bryan, Ohio, OTR plant this summer, will have to negotiate a new contract with the United Steelworkers in order for the transaction to go through, say union officials.

"The successor clause in the contract specifically requires that the proposed buyer negotiates a new contract with us prior to the completion of the sale."

It was reported earlier this week that CTNA notified the State of Ohio that it intends to sell the plant to Roesler, which is based in Dortmund, Germany.
