"As a result of continuing increases in raw material, energy and transportation costs," Michelin North America Inc. says it is increasing prices on its consumer, OTR and industrial product lines.
Replacement passenger and light truck tire prices will increase by up to 7% on Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, private and associate brand tires sold in the United States. The new prices will go into effect March 3, 2008.
Earthmover and industrial tire prices, including items on back-order, will increase by an average of 3% on products sold in the U.S. and Mexico effective Feb. 1, 2008.
(Price increases on the company's Michelin and BFGoodrich brand medium truck tires -- up to 6% -- and farm tires -- up to 4% -- increased on Jan. 1.)
As previously announced, Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. (up to 8%) and Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (up to 5%) will increase consumer tire prices effective Feb. 1, 2008. Continental Tire North America Inc. will raise truck tire prices up to 6% on the same day.
