CTNA touts flagship Grabber HTS light truck tire

April 18, 2008

The latest addition to Continental Tire North America Inc.'s (CTNA) General Grabber line, the Grabber HTS, is available in 38 SKUs, with 28 more to be added during the third quarter.

The additional SKUs will give the product 80% coverage of the light truck tire segment, according to CTNA Product Manager Tony Talbert.

The Grabber HTS was originally introduced during the 2007 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show. It was heavily featured during CTNA's Gold Dealer program group meeting last weekend.

"The Grabber HTS is the new flagship of the entire Grabber family, including the Grabber UHP, AT2 and our new Grabber Competition tires," says Andreas Gerstenberger, executive vice president of sales and marketing for CTNA's PLT (Passenger and Light Truck) division.

The tire contains a number of features, including CTNA's proprietary Duragen technology, which consists of ultra-high strength steel belts, micro-fiber casing reinforcements and a broad contour.

The Grabber HTS is being tested for approval by Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp., and has already been approved for one GM vehicle, Talbert told dealers during the Gold meeting. "The OE pull-through has already started."
