Falken expands its performance tire selection

April 5, 2001

Falken Tire Corp. has unveiled three new performance tires.

The ultra high performance Azenis ST 115 goes into production this June and will be available later in the summer. The "silent tire's" compound contains microscopic glass balls to absorb noise, according to Richard Smallwood, Falken director of sales and marketing. It is intended for the luxury touring segment.

The Ziex 5 12, also an ultra high performance tire, replaces Falken's Ziex, which will be phased out. It contains a revamped tread design and targets mass market buyers. Production of the tire begins this fall with availability starting in December2001 or January 2002, says Smallwood.

Falken's new STZ 04 sport light truck tire has a conservately styled sidewall with an all-season tread design and targets the upscale, luxury SUV market. It will be available at the start of 2002.
