ITRA sets dates for Commercial Tire Service seminars

Oct. 31, 2001

The International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) Foundation Inc. has chose dates and locations for its regional one-day Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Technician Training & Certification Seminars.

The first two will be held in Akron, Ohio, on Jan. 16 and 17, 2002. The second two are scheduled outside Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 20 and 21.

These classroom sessions start at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Training will consist of live demonstrations and industry videos as well as new, computer-generated presentations on wheel fastener torque and clamping force, ITRA says.

Students have the option of taking a certification exam immediately following the training. Everyone who attends the seminars will receive an ITRA Certificate of Training.

Advance registration costs $225 for ITRA members and non-members. On-site registration is an additional $25.

The fee includes the cost of the 250-page ITRA Commercial Tire Service Manual, which is required to take the certification exam. Those who already own a manual can participate for $150.

Current ITRA-certified CTS instructors and technicians may attend the training as a refresher for $75. All prices include lunch.

The pre-registration cutoff date for the Akron class is January 10. The Chicago deadline is February 14.
