Federated gives $200,000 to Toys for Tots

July 9, 2015

Federated Auto Parts is celebrating Christmas in July with a record donation to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Members and suppliers have helped Federated donate $200,000 this year.

“Federated members and vendor partners have something special in common. They are all very generous and committed to helping those less fortunate,” says Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated.

The company held a Toys for Tots auction during the Federated national meeting, following the annual awards dinner. Among the items auctioned were a “Get Dirty with Kenny” dirt track racing weekend, a personal appearance by Kenny Schrader, and several Federated Auto Parts 400 activities, including driving the pace car, waving the green flag and serving as the starter of the Federated 400.

“We want to thank everyone who participated in our annual Toys for Tots auction. It was a fun night for a great cause and we are very fortunate to work with such giving people," Bishop says.

“Although we raised quite a bit of money for Toys for Tots already, our members are not stopping there. Many of them have already started their local Toys for Tots campaigns or have made collecting toys and donations a year-round charitable activity. Due to their kindness, we are looking forward to making another donation to the campaign in December.”
