Guizhou Tyre Co. Ltd. has expanded its longstanding partnership with American Tire Distributors (ATD).

As part of the new, multi-year collaboration, ATD will serve as the exclusive supplier of Samson brand passenger and light truck tires throughout the United States.

"ATD has successfully distributed Samson commercial tires for many years, establishing a strong foundation of trust, product knowledge and market experience," say Guizhou Tyre officials.

The addition of Samson PLT tires to ATD's portfolio "represents a natural extension of this established relationship, leveraging ATD's extensive distribution network, customer relationships and market reach to further strengthen the Samson brand's presence in the U.S."

Guizhou Tyre, which was founded in 1958, has grown into a global tire manufacturer "with an expanding international manufacturing and market presence. Through continued investment in advanced technology, product development and intelligent manufacturing," the company has built "a diversified portfolio, including the Advance, Samson and Tornado brands, as well as TBR, PLT, OTR, IDL, farm and air-spring tire products, serving a wide range of markets and customers worldwide." 

In the U.S, Guizhou Tyre does business as Guizhou Tire North America, which serves as its operating platform in the North American market, "connecting the group's manufacturing capabilities and product resources with customers throughout the United States."

The tire manufacturer's expanded partnership with ATD "represets and important step" in further strengthening its market strategy.

As a key part of its global expansion, Guizhou Tyre is advancing the development of  a new intelligent tire manufacturing plant in Morocco. The plant will have a planned annual production capacity of 12 million PLT tires, with production to start by the end of 2027.

Ghizhou Tyre officials say the plant will incorporate "advanced environmental technologies, more advanced manufacturing processes and more people-oriented management practices to further improve product quality, strengthen international supply capabilities and support the company's continued growth in global markets." 

Guizhou Tyre says it's the first and only tiremaker in China to have been certified by the World Economic Forum's Global Lighthouse Network and also has received an EcoVadis Silver sustainability rating.

The tire manufacturer and ATD "will build on their established relationship and expanded, multi-year partnership by combining advanced manufacturing capabilities with ATD's extensive distribution infrastructure and customer relationships."
