Tire dealers and industry leaders swung big at the Ohio Tire & Automotive Association's (OTAA) annual golf outing at The Country Club at Muirfield Village.

Tire dealers and industry leaders swung big at the Ohio Tire & Automotive Association's (OTAA) annual golf outing at The Country Club at Muirfield Village.

The OTAA made donations to two industry foundations during the event and presented John Marshall, longtime owner of Dayton-based Grismer Tire, with the organization's William Floyd Distinguished Service Award.

Marshall, a past president of the OTAA, was heavily active in lobbying on behalf of independent tire dealers throughout his career. In accepting the award, Marshall spoke on the importance of ensuring dealers have a voice in government decisions affecting the industry. In 2003, he was MTD's Tire Dealer of the Year.

The OTAA made a $2,500 donation to the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) and a $2,500 donation to the Road Ready Foundation.

The AACF is a nonprofit organization that provides financial and practical support to people in the automotive aftermarket who are in need. The Road Ready Foundation, founded by Alex Bebiak and Jamie Ward, provides education and advocates for tire safety, roadside safety and stronger tread depth standards in the United States.
