Representatives from the Tire Industry Association (TIA) recently met with Jonathan Morrison, administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Morrison received the TIA Leadership Award in recognition of his commitment to roadway safety and his support of TIA's inaugural Roadside Service Safety Week.
"Earlier this year, Morrison recorded a public service announcement encouraging motorists to slow down, move over and remain alert when approaching roadside service professionals," say TIA officials.
"His participation helped amplify TIA's Roadside Service Safety Week campaign and reinforced the importance of protecting the men and women who work alongside America's roadways."
"Administrator Morrison has been an outstanding partner in helping TIA bring national attention to roadside safety," says TIA CEO Dick Gust. "His willingness to lend his voice to Roadside Service Safety Week demonstrated a genuine commitment to protecting roadside service professionals and we are proud to recognize his leadership."
The meeting also included senior NHTSA representatives and reinforced the shared commitment between TIA and the agency to improving roadway safety through education, outreach and collaboration.
