Continental Tire the Americas LLC has launched the new Continental TrueContact Tour54, an all-season touring tire for passenger and crossover vehicles.
The tire fits wheels ranging in size from 15 inches to 20 inches in diameter.
The new Continental TrueContact Tour54 features the company's EcoPlus Technology, which provides fuel savings and optimized range, shorter stopping distances on wet roads and extended tread life.
The TrueContact Tour54 will replace its predecessor, the TrueContact Tour, plus the PureContract LS luxury all-season tire.
“We took two of our leading touring tires and made them into one even better tire,” says Bill Caldwell, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Continental.
“We made improvements to the already top-performing touring tires and we are pleased with the advances made. The TrueContact Tour54 extends tread life, while still improving wet braking, wet handling and dry handling.”
The TrueContact Tour54 also features Continental’s Tuned Performance Indicators – D, W and S symbols in the tread that disappear when the tire is no longer tuned for optimum performance in either dry (D), wet (W) or snow (S) conditions.
The tire also features Continental’s Alignment Verification System – indicators on both sides of the tread that either wear off evenly, ensuring the driver of proper alignment, or wear off unevenly, alerting the driver to check the wheel alignment.
This tire is the first Continental tire manufactured with the EV Compatible logo stamped into the sidewall.
