GreatWater has recently acquired 1 Stop Auto Shop, a six-location automotive repair and tire business serving customers across central and southern Illinois.

"With locations in Sherman, Chatham, Springfield, Bloomington, Champaign and a sixth location branded Mears Automotive in Mattoon, 1 Stop Auto Shop has built a strong regional presence by providing full-service automotive repair, maintenance, tire services, quick lube and customer-focused conveniences across multiple Illinois communities," say GreatWater officials.

While growing its automotive presence in Illinois and continuing to "support both single-location repair shops and larger multi-shop groups," the company says each 1 Stop Auto Shop location will continue operating under its established name, "with local teams remaining in place and customers continuing to receive the familiar service they know and trust."

“This is an important addition to the GreatWater network,” says Jim Dykstra, chief executive officer of GreatWater 360 Auto Care. “1 Stop Auto Shop has built a strong reputation across multiple Illinois communities, and we are excited to support the teams as they continue serving customers under the name people already know and trust.”

As part of the transition, the company announced that Trey Hollinshead will join GreatWater as a district manager, who has direct knowledge of the 1 Stop Auto Shop business, teams, customers and local markets. Officials say the announcement helps ensure "continuity during a transition."

GreatWater will provide 1 Stop Auto Shop with a "centralized support platform, including resources across operations, recruiting, technician development, procurement, finance, marketing, technology and training." This will allow the shop to strengthen its business operations while maintaining a localized view and quality of its services.

Grand Rapids, MI-based GreatWater 360 Auto Care, which has nearly 160 locations, is one of the largest tire dealerships in the United States, according to the 2026 MTD 100.
