Sun Opens 600th Store
Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc. has opened its 600th store - a Plaza Tire Service location in Bowling Green, Ky.
"The Bowling Green opening marks a significant moment in Sun Auto’s growth journey," say Sun Auto Tire & Service officials.
"Since 2017, the company has expanded from approximately 30 locations to one of the nation’s largest independent tire and automotive service retailers, operating more than 600 stores across the country."
Sun Auto Tire & Service, which is based in Mesa, Ariz., is one of the five largest tire dealerships in the U.S., according to the 2026 MTD 100.
"This milestone represents far more than a store count,” says Tony Puckett, the company's CEO. “Reaching 600 locations is a testament to the thousands of teammates who deliver exceptional service every day and the customers and communities who trust us with their vehicles." "As we continue to grow, our focus remains unchanged: providing clear communication, trusted guidance and expert care through the local brands our customers know and rely on.”
The opening of Sun Auto Tire & Service's 600th store "also coincides with Sun Auto’s recent achievement of Better Business Bureau Accreditation across all its network of locations, reinforcing the company’s commitment to transparency, integrity and customer service."
Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc.'s Plaza Tire Service brand is also investing in local education and youth development programs in Bowling Green.
"Through a partnership with the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Foundation, (Sun Auto Tire & Service) recently awarded two scholarships to local students pursuing educational and career opportunities in the region.
"The Sun Auto Network is also launching Drive With Purpose Fundraising Campaign, its inaugural community fundraising campaign, in partnership with the Bowling Green High School Cheer Program.
"Throughout the month-long initiative, a portion of proceeds from every oil change service performed at the Bowling Green store will be donated to the program. By participating, customers can make every mile matter while helping support fundraising efforts that benefit student-athletes and strengthen opportunities for the cheer program throughout the school year."
Sun Auto Tire & Service is backed by private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners.
