As it prepares to release its nine-month financial report on Halloween (Oct. 31), Nokian Tyres plc has decided to "treat" its investors to another acquisition in the United States.
Nokian, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vianor Inc., has added two former Monro Muffler Brake Inc. stores to its growing chain. The locations, in Brattleboro, Vt., and Keene, N.H., are "a natural fit for our total Vianor operations and Nokian tire sales in New England area," according to the company.
The purchases give Vianor 11 retail stores in New England and one wholesale outlet based in Colchester, Vt. Additional stores will most likely be concentrated in the Snow Belt region (for more information, see "Nokian wants more Vianor stores in U.S.," Oct. 13, 2008).
