Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is celebrating its 125th anniversary by relighting its Goodyear sign that lights up the company’s former headquarters in Akron, Ohio.
Goodyear partnered with The Well CDC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing Akron’s Middlebury neighborhood, to revitalize the sign. The restoration of the sign has been in operation for nearly a decade, according to officials.
“This project shines a light on Goodyear’s continued commitment to invest in Akron and in the communities where we live and work,” says Laura Duda, senior vice president and chief communications officer, at Goodyear.
“We are thankful to work together with great community partners like The Well CDC to support the neighborhood that Goodyear has called home for the past 125 years.”
The revitalized sign was unveiled at The Well CDC’s Imagine the Future celebration on Aug. 10.
