Hankook Tire America Corp. announced it has been named the winner of the 2024 Red Dot Design Award in the product design category for its e Smart City AU65 tire.
The Red Dot Award is an international design competition hosted by Germany’s International Forum in Hanover, Germany.
Winners were selected in product design, brand and communication design and design concepts by evaluating various factors such as industrial products’ design, quality, function and eco-friendliness.
The e Smart City AU56 is a new tire tailed for electric buses and is poised for launch at the end of 2024.
The tire is built from advanced compounds and cutting-edge technology to optimize performance for electric buses. The tire delivers enhanced mileage from its tread block technology, which provides grip and prolonged tread life.
The sidewall of the tire features a protector designed with block grooves and colors. The premium design serves aesthetic and functional purposes by reducing tire weight and minimizing the appearance of wear and tear.
Including the most recent award, Hankook Tire has received 17 total honors at the Red Dot Design Awards since 2013.
Additionally, Hankook Tire has consistently won the iF Design Award in Germany and the IDEA Award in the United States every year since 2012.
