Hankook Receives Tire Design Awards
Key Highlights
- Hankook Tire secured three Red Dot Design Awards in 2026 for its tire lines.
- The Ventus evo received an award and features a center wheel groove and AI-powered sustainable compounds to enhance steering and reduce road noise.
- The iON AT, an energy-efficient tire designed for electric SUVs and pickups, also won an award.
Hankook Tire America Corp. received three awards in the Product Design category at the Red Dot Design Award 2026 for several tire lines.
"Recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions, the Red Dot Design Award honored three Hankook Tire products this year with winner awards: the ultra-high-performance tire ‘Ventus evo,’ the all-terrain tire ‘iON AT’ for electric SUVs and pickup trucks and Laufenn’s summer performance tire ‘S FIT2,'" say Hankook Tire officials.
The ‘Ventus evo’ was recognized for its center wheel groove design, "which enhances steering precision while reducing road noise," and the tire's "chamfer design and an AI-powered sustainable compound."
"The ‘iON AT’, scheduled for launch later this year, was recognized for incorporating key EV performance attributes – including energy efficiency, extended mileage and low noise levels – into an off-road-oriented design.
"The tire contributes to improved driving range by minimizing energy loss through its optimized tread pattern, while compound optimization effectively reduces heat generation and wear. The product was recognized for successfully integrating innovation and sustainability into a cohesive design."
Laufenn’s ‘S FIT2’ was recognized for its ‘numeric sidewall’ design. The tire offers optimised handling and "excellent drainage performance through its asymmetric tread pattern, while features such as the ‘alignment indicator’ and ‘EV mark’ improve user convenience." The tire also incorporates an environmentally-conscious design that improves tread life and reduces noise.
