TIA, UAE Create Scholarship

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) and the University of the Aftermarket Foundation have established the Tire Industry Scholarship.

The scholarship will contribute "$5,000 to support students pursuing higher education or trade programs related to the tire and service industry," say TIA officials.

"This scholarship reflects TIA’s ongoing commitment to education, workforce development, and the long-term success of the tire industry,” says TIA CEO Dick Gust, “By partnering with the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, we’re helping to create a stronger pipeline of skilled professionals who will drive our industry forward.”

According to TIA officials, Bridgestone Americas Inc. "has stepped forward to match TIA’s $5,000 contribution this year and has pledged an additional $5,000 per year for the next five years to help grow and sustain the scholarship program."

Yokohama Tire Corp. has "also joined this effort, pledging $10,000 to further expand the scholarship fund and provide even greater opportunities for students pursuing careers in the tire and service industry."
