Yokohama Tire has released a five-part educational video series designed to teach drivers about tire safety and maintenance. The videos are being released during the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association’s National Tire Safety Week, which runs through July 4.
The series features Yokohama’s “Pit Crew” characters, who also appeared in the tiremaker’s recent “Pit Life” commercial spot. The characters walk consumers through several tire-related topics in a lighthearted format.
“In these videos, the energetic Yokohama Pit Crew characters are front-and-center showing consumers the significance of tire safety and care in a fun-to-watch format,” says Alan Holtschneider, senior director of marketing at Yokohama Tire.
The first video, “Know Your Tire Pressure,” focuses on proper inflation. Additional videos are being released throughout Tire Safety Week and cover tire alignment, tire rotation, sidewall markings and tire storage.
The videos are available on Yokohama Tire’s social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram.
“It’s important for consumers to know that tires influence the braking, steering, comfort, handling, safety and fuel efficiency of the vehicle, and that they are also the only parts that actually touch the road,” says Holtschneider. “Capitalizing on our motorsports heritage and ongoing racing presence, we think these videos stay true to our brand and will help educate them on understanding tires and the significance of tire safety in a fun new presentation.”
