Yokohama Tire Corp. recently teamed up Surfrider Foundation to clean up Seal Beach in southern California.

Working together, the groups picked up "dozens of trash-packed bags, weighing in at more than 100 pounds of unsafe debris," according to Yokohama officials.

The event was a continuation of the various environmental projects Yokohama and Surfrider have jointly worked on the last three years.

Surfrider is part of Yokohama’s ongoing “Caring for our Communities” program.

"It’s been truly gratifying being a part of Surfrider Foundation’s North OC Chapter ongoing work to protect the environment, especially the beaches and oceans,” says Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama’s senior director of marketing.

“We continue to volunteer on numerous projects with them, and the successful Seal Beach cleanup was another great example.”

Yokohama also continues to support Surfrider Foundation’s North OC Chapter with the distribution of student club memberships, water quality testing kits, cigarette butt collection canisters and replacement equipment for harbor clean-ups.
