U.S. Tire Shipments to Decline Slightly in 2026

Total U.S. tire shipments are projected to reach 330.3 million units in 2026, down nearly six million units from 2025 numbers, according to the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association's (USTMA) July forecast.
Tire shipments to the U.S. in 2025 were 336.3 million units. In 2019, the organization reported that total shipments were 332.7 million units.
"Compared with 2025, original equipment (OE) shipments for passenger, light truck and truck tires are expected to change by -0.7%, -1.9% and 6.2% respectively, with a total decrease of 0.1 million units," the report found.
"Replacement passenger, light truck and truck tire shipments are also projected to change by -1.6%, -1.6% and -7.1% respectively, with a total decrease of 5.9 million units."
