The Tire Recycling Foundation (TRF) has elected Bill Combs, senior vice president of sustainability at Penske, to its board of directors.

TRF officials say Combs brings experience in sustainability, fleet operations and end-of-life tire management to the organization as it works to strengthen markets for recycled tires.

“Bill brings a valuable combination of industry experience, operational perspective and a strong understanding of the role fleets can play in advancing tire circularity,” says Stephanie Mull, executive director of the Tire Recycling Foundation.

“As TRF continues to expand its work to strengthen end-of-life tire markets and accelerate practical, scalable solutions, Bill’s perspective will be an important addition to our board. We look forward to benefiting from his leadership and expertise as we move this work forward.”

Combs joins the board as TRF expands its industry partnerships and efforts to support tire recycling research, education and market development.

TRF works with companies and organizations throughout the tire recycling value chain to support collaboration, market development and new applications for end-of-life tires.

Combs’ appointment will add a fleet operator perspective to TRF's efforts as the foundation works to develop and expand markets for scrap tires and recycled tire materials.
