Marangoni 2013 sales up despite weak demand

Jan. 8, 2014

Marangoni Tread North America Inc. says that in 2013 the company achieved a 70,000-unit sales increase despite the inability of the overall market to create a demand for additional volume.

In a letter to its commercial sales staff, the company said that significant highlights in 2013 included 12 new Unitread retreaders, two new Ringtreaders and seven new commercial locations.

The company was also busy with new product development, introducing two drive treads, the RDA-E and RZYD-E and wide base trailer. In addition, three RingTread Energeco products, the RTAone, the RDA-E for drive tires and RTA-E for trailers, were U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay-approved in March.

In November, the Marangoni Intermodal tread was introduced. To add manufacturing support, a third shift was added at the company's 150,000-sq.-ft. facility in Madison, Tenn., to support the increased volume demand the company experienced. The plant now has 80 employees.

President Bill Sweatman said that growing faster than the market is a key indicator that Marangoni continues to collectively provide customers with best-in-class products, service, support and the best network of independent dealers in the industry.

“We at Marangoni Tread North America are proud of our continued commitment to be the world leader in supporting Independent retreaders throughout North America,” said Sweatman.
