China truck forum chaired by ACT's Vieth

Kenny Vieth, president and senior analyst of ACT Research Co., recently chaired the second annual Heavy Truck Conference in Weihai, China. The two-day event attracted 150 participants, primarily from China, but with representation from North America, Europe and Australia.

"I was honored to be asked to serve as chairman of this conference," said Vieth. "It was an opportunity to increase our understanding of the Chinese commercial vehicle industry." The conference was also attended by Frank Maly, ACT's director-CV analysis and research.

Speakers at the conference included leaders from global industry suppliers, Chinese truck makers and suppliers, key industry participants and representatives from Chinese think tanks.

 Columbus, Ind.-based ACT has published a forecast of the commercial vehicle industry in China since 2009. It has done so in partnership with China's State Information Center (SIC). The SIC is affiliated with the National Development and Reform Commission of China and is engaged in research on the macro-economy, key industries and information technology.
