Cooper introduces Roadmaster RM253 drive tire

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced the Roadmaster RM253 drive tire into its Roadmaster commercial truck tire lineup. Roadmaster tires are designed for pick-up and delivery, and regional applications.

"Roadmaster's new RM253 drive tire for Class 4 and 5 vehicles meets the tough demands of pick-up and delivery applications," says Bill Hoban, Cooper’s national truck tire sales manager. "This tire provides the reliability, excellent traction and treadwear needed for these types of conditions."

The new RM253 features an application-specific tread rubber compound that helps optimize tread wear, handling and traction performance. The tire's cool-running base compound, optimized belt construction and tread package deliver the durability and retreadability fleet owners expect, says Cooper. The new RM253 provides strong all-season performance.

This traction drive tire also features aggressive geometric grooves designed to prevent stone retention and promote self-cleaning. The RM253 has an M+S (mud and snow) rating and delivers enhanced wet traction with its S-shaped or "isle" siping. Its sidewall depth indicators protect the sidewall from scuffing around the tire and indicate when a tire should be rotated to preserve the casing for retreading.

The RM253 is available in 225/70R19.5 (load range F and G), and 245/70R19.5 (load range G) sizes. For more information on Roadmaster tires, visit www.coopertire.com.
