Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC (BFNT) has appointed Steve Shelton to run the company's newly formed logistics supply chain management department, effective Jan. 1.
Shelton currently is BFNT’s vice president, supply, planning and sourcing.
The new department will integrate planning and sourcing functions with logistics, "a configuration which will create efficiencies to better manage supply and demand, reduce or eliminate supply chain-related costs, and assist in providing for quick and coordinated responses to market changes," say BFNT officials.
