Report: Recalled tires remain dangerous
A television station in Atlanta recently ran a report on recalled tires. It said there are millions of them still on the roads.
Could that possibly be true? Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich certainly didn't think so when he first read about the claim, reported on WSB-TV.
So he did his own investigation. The three largest recalls since 1999 add up to more than 7.9 million tires. Other than that, the recalls have been relatively small.
How many of those tires are still in use or unaccounted for?
