Cooper introduces mid-range touring tire

June 28, 2013

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is expanding its family of touring tires with a new addition this summer: the CS3 Touring.

The CS3 Touring is an exceptional mid-range tire featuring the following:

* new technology. Cooper’s patent-pending StabilEdge technology adds to the tire's dry handling stability, steering response and overall ride comfort.

* all-season performance. Boasting a newly developed five-rib tread pattern, the CS3 Touring "delivers improved wet and light snow traction, a smooth, quiet ride and even-wearing, long-lasting tread life.

* increased fuel-efficiency. Cooper says the CS3 Touring ranks as one of the lightest tires in the "better" class, with an average weight reduction of two pounds; the result is a 6% improvement in rolling resistance compared to typical tire construction.

"Cooper is committed to connecting consumers to life’s road trips,” says Scott Jamieson, director of product management. “The CS3 Touring meets the needs of families by creating a safe, reliable, fuel-efficient and affordable tire option while not compromising on features that deliver true performance benefits.”

The CS3 Touring replaces the Lifeliner GLS in the mid-range product.segment. It is available in T- and H-ated sizes designed for modern sedans and crossover vehicles; V-rated sizes will be available in August.
