TBC hires Hockenson to run tire stores

May 2, 2013

TBC Corp. has hired Markus Hockenson as senior vice president of company store operations.

He will oversee the company's nearly 900-plus Tire Kingdom, National Tire and Battery (NTB) and Merchant’s Tire and Auto Centers outlets. TBC Corp. is the largest independent tire dealer in the United States; it is ranked No. 1 on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list.

Most recently, Hockenson was senior vice president of store operations for Advance Auto Parts, a company he joined in 2008.

He has more than 20 years’ experience managing retail operations in the U.S. and United Kingdom. Over his 12-year career with Enterprise Holdings Inc., he held operations management positions of increasing responsibility, both domestically and abroad.

He then joined Starbucks Corp. in an operational management and special project development capacity. Hockenson left Starbucks to join Advance Auto Parts.

TBC also announced that Bill Ihnken has elected to leave the company after 12 years "to pursue other interests." He was named president and chief operating officer of TBC Retail Group’s company-owned store division on April 1, 2012.
