Do you have customers who drive pickups? Do they have on- and off-road driving needs? Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has targeted those customers for you.
At the 2013 Goodyear Dealer Conference in Washington, D.C., the company introduced its Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure light truck tire. The tire features a layer of DuPont Kevlar for puncture resistance over pavement, gravel and dirt. Kevlar also helps with rain and snow traction.
The Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure also was engineered using Goodyear’s exclusive Durawall technology, which offers toughness and helps to resist cuts in the sidewall area.
“Drivers who go both on- and off-road, many of whom own pickup trucks, have high expectations," says Al Mendoza, senior brand manager. "They want good wet traction, off-road traction, long tread life and durability.”
The tire will be available in September at Goodyear retail outlets. The full lineup of 44 metric and LT sizes will be available by the end of 2013.
16-inch, six sizes: from 265/75R16 to 235/70R16.
17-inch, eight sizes: from 235/70R17 to 265/65R17.
18-inch, six sizes: from 255/70R18 to 265/60R18.
19-inch, one size: 255/60R19.
20-inch, two sizes: 275/60R20 and 275/55R20.
There are 21 LT sizes, including 31x10.50R15, Load Range C.
Twenty of the sizes are designated as “Pro-Grade” fitments -- defined as Load Range E tires with two layers of Kevlar and a heavy-duty steel belt package for three-quarter or one-ton light trucks that regularly haul or tow heavy loads.
Scott Rogers, chief marketing officer for consumer tires, said Goodyear will back the Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure in two ways: with a 60,000-mile limited tread wear warranty and advertising, "the biggest Wrangler spend in eight years."
