Greensboro, N.C.-based Piedmont Truck Tires Inc. has selected Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. to be its sole retread system provider. Piedmont is installing Goodyear retreading equipment at its plant in Graham, N.C.
"Prior to this business extension, Goodyear supplied Piedmont commercial tire service outlets with new Goodyear truck tires," say Goodyear officials. "The new tire supply relationship will continue, but is supplemented with growth in Goodyear retreaded tire production."
Piedmont operates seven commercial truck centers in seven North Carolina locations: Asheville, Charlotte, Graham, Greensboro, High Point, Raleigh and Warsaw.
"The Goodyear name is strong with our customers," says Piedmont President Dan Rice, "and we see the entire Goodyear package of new tires, retreading systems, fleet support and training as a solid package for commercial tire dealers and retreaders."
