Michelin adds size to XHA2 loader tire

Aug. 4, 2009

Michelin North America Inc. (MNA) has added a new size, 23.5R25, to its Michelin XHA2 loader tire, which is designed for construction industry machines that operate on infrastructure and utility sites.

"We've seen great success for the XHA2 tire in its quarry size that became available in May," says Roger Lucas, vice president of sales and marketing, Michelin Earthmover Tires. The XHA2 was officially introduced this past April.

The tire contains additional rubber in the tread area for greater damage-resistance, strengthened sidewalls and a new sidewall rubber compound that resists the expansion of cuts and splits, say MNA officials.

Billed as lasting at least 5% longer than its predecessor, the Michelin XHA, the XHA2 also is available in size 26.5R25. Two more sizes, 29.5R25 and 20.5R25, are scheduled to be rolled out next year.
