Tire labeling: Aeolus likes the idea in Europe

Dec. 6, 2012

Aeolus Tyre Co. Ltd. believes mandatory European tire labels will provide "extra opportunities in the market."

Although labeling is aimed at making road transport safer, more efficient and more environment-friendly, Aeolus says labels also will help to challenge established brand reputations, and give users greater confidence in basing their decision-making on price.

“The buying process will become more transparent, and all tire brands will have the same opportunities”, says Bertus Heuver, director of Heuver Tyrewholesale, an exclusive distributor of the Aeolus commercial tire brand based in the Netherlands.

"The European tire label gives everyone an equal footing, whereby existing reputations will no longer be the sole consideration. We expect labeling to result in a more transparent buying process, with greater opportunities for young brands like ours.

"Favorable label scores, together with specific Aeolus values like quality, innovation, environment-friendly production and sustainability, will allow us to offer users a comprehensive range of competitive tires," says Heuver. "This will convince even more users about Aeolus' position as 'the leading alternative.'"

Aeolus Tyre is part of ChemChina, one of the world’s largest companies. In the United States, the Aeolus brand is distributed by Alliance Tire Americas Inc.
