Why one dealer thinks pricing will not go up

Aug. 27, 2012

Will tire pricing be higher at the end of the year than it is now? Unfortunately, nothing Nostradamus predicted in the 16th century applies to this issue.

All we can do is go by trends we see in the industry, which are by no means indisputable. in a recent blog, Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich saw signs that pricing might go up.

One reader disagreed, however. Soft demand combined with more than adequate supply was only one reason he believes tire prices won't go up. He seems pretty sure about it, and backs up why.

To read what he has to say about the matter, check out Ulrich's latest blog, which gives the reader his due: "Take that, blogger! Dealer says tire prices will not go up."

After you have read the new blog (and perhaps re-read the old blog), let us know what you think by leaving a comment!
