Maxam to Display New 63-inch Tire During MINExpo

Aug. 19, 2021

Maxam Tire North America will showcase its largest mining tire, the 53/80R63 MS453, during MINExpo 2021, which takes place Sept. 13-15 in Las Vegas, Nev. The MS453 is Maxam's first-ever 63-inch OTR tire and the largest product in its portfolio.

The tire - which MTD reported on earlier this year - is designed to "handle the most severe challenges on haul roads" and features an aggressive, unique tread design and reinforced sidewall, according to Maxam officials.

"Manufactured using a proprietary, two-stage method that involves improved placement of the belt and tread package on the casing, the MS453 is produced at the highest standard."

Maxam says the tire has undergone extensive testing at mine sites in Nevada, as well as other locations.

The company also will display other products during MINExpo, including the MS405, which was recently approved by Caterpillar. The tire features a deep lug pattern that "combines excellent grip, stability and performance" and is engineered to minimize vibration at higher cycle speeds. It targets loader, grader and earthmover applications.

"Our OEM-approved products show how Maxam continues to bring performance-driven solutions to customers globally," says Troy Kline, president of Maxam Tire North America.
