Unimax Tire Ltd. is expanding its wholesaling footprint with a partnership to distribute tires for all Uni-Select Inc. stores in the Atlantic provinces of Canada.
The agreement was signed Sept. 1, 2016, and includes distribution to more than 200 service locations. The Uni-Select stores will now have access to the complete Unimax Tire product line, which includes passenger, light truck, and commercial tires.
Unimax is both a wholesaler and operator of independent retail tire stores in Canada. It operates close to 30 warehouses through its dealers and shareholders in Canada and sells more than three million tires a year at its retail stores and distribution centers.
Unimax offers 12 banners for its retail businesses and they account for 887 retail stores. The largest of its retail banners is Point S, with 182 locations in Canada, says Patrick Lavoie, communications and marketing director for Unimax.
