Pirelli improved its customer score on its way to repeating its top ranking in the performance tire segment of the J.D. Power and Associates 2016 Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study.

Pirelli has ranked highest in the performance sport segment for the past five out of seven years, achieving the highest score in 2016, 2015, 2014, 2012 and 2010. In addition, Pirelli ranked second in the luxury segment of the annual study, which analyzes consumer satisfaction with OE tires.

In the performance sport segment, Pirelli's score was 724, ahead of last year's 693.

“To receive the J.D. Power 2016 Award in the Performance Sport segment for the third consecutive year is a real honor for Pirelli," says Pierluigi Dinelli, chairman and CEO for Pirelli Tire North America. "We’re proud to have our tires recognized once again and also improve on our satisfaction score from 2015 to rank highest with consumers in North America.

“We excel in the performance sport category thanks to our dedication to advanced technology, which is best expressed through our long-standing involvement in motorsports, including, at its pinnacle, Formula 1. Pirelli’s tire development and testing for the demanding conditions of racing allows consumers to reap the high performance and functionality benefits through track- to-street technology transfer. This process results in an excellent O.E. product, which is tailor-made to meet the needs of the manufacturer while maintaining the performance one expects of Pirelli."

Pirelli says its strength in the premium and ultra-high performance tire markets in North America has been reflected through its growing partnerships and choice as the OE tire for U.S. auto brands Cadillac and Ford; as well as Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes, and Porsche.
