Canadian Tire wants 'more modern' stores

Sept. 7, 2005

"As part of our 2005-2009 strategic plan announced earlier this year, one of Canadian Tire's top priorities is accelerating the replacement of traditional stores and building new, more modern stores," says Marke Foote, president of Canadian Tire's retail division.

Canadian Tire -- which operates more than 1,100 locations -- opened its latest store, a 63,000-square-foot facility in Vancouver, British Columbia, three weeks ago.

The outlet features not only tires and auto parts; it also offers home decor, cooking, sports, lawn and garden and storage products, among other items.
