Nokian Tyres plc is investing 140 million euros in its St. Petersburg, Russia, plant to accelerate production of four million tires by 2008 instead of 2009.
The company's main projects in 2005 "and the years to come are related to the construction of the Russian factory" and other activities in Russia, Sweden and Eastern Europe.
Production at the St. Petersburg factory is slated to begin this year.
