Nitto launches interactive tire selector

June 10, 2010

Nitto Tire U.S.A. Inc. has launched an interactive tire selector that helps consumers find the right tire based on their vehicle and driving preferences.

The program is available at www.nittotire.com/TireSelector.

Its objective is to "provide consumers with enough information to make an educated tire purchase," according to Nitto officials. "An equally important goal was to deliver this content in an engaging user experience."

After consumers have selected a vehicle, the program presents them with a list of tire sizes and styles. Users can choose both factory replacement and plus-size rim fitments. The system also includes a list of driving conditions and tire attributes, arranged as icons.

"The consumer can pick one or several of these icons and set the order of their importance. With each mouse click, the tire list animates and re-orders itself based on the user's preferences."

Based on these selections, the program will show tires with the proper vehicle application to fit the condition in which they are used.

"In addition to finding tires by vehicle, users also can enter a tire size -- or sizes, in the case of staggered applications -- to see results. The user can then filter the results using the same driving and tire attribute filters."

"We wanted to provide our customers more than just numbers," says Stephen Leu, a Nitto marketing representative. "We created an easy-to-use system that helps consumers quickly identify tires that fit both their vehicle and their driving preferences."
