The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently released its final rule establishing test procedures to measure consumer tire fuel efficiency, wet traction and durability.

The issue also contains an image of the new, removable replacement tire label that NHTSA has proposed. The label would include tire rating information pertaining to rolling resistance and other characteristics.
