Hundreds attend Tire Wholesalers open house

May 8, 2010

Tire Wholesalers Co. Inc. (TWI) held its annual open house in Troy, Mich., on May 6 to great fanfare. Actually three events in one -- a dinner, trade show and buying event -- the open house drew a record crowd of more than 500 people.

More than $15,000 in prizes, including a raffle for a 55-inch, 3-D high definition television donated by Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., were given away by the master of ceremonies, TWI President Ross Kogel Jr.

The 40-year-old company recently opened a distribution center, its fifth, in Hammond, Ind., near Chicago. Kogel says the company will service existing customers from the warehouse "and grow from there."

TWI opened its fourth distribution center in 2004 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
